From Your Design to Your Doorstep
Every custom wooden token, coaster, and promotional item we create goes through our proven four-step process. Here’s how we bring your vision to life.
It Starts With a Design
Everything we create begins with your design. To ensure the best results with our laser engraving process, we need artwork that’s been converted to pure black and white—no shades of gray.
Design Files We Accept:
- Vector Files (.ai, .svg, .dxf) — These are our favorites!
- Image Files (.jpg, .png, .pdf) — These work great too.
⚠️ Pro Tip: Please don’t just place an image into design software and save it as an .ai file—this doesn’t make it a true vector!
Don’t Have a Black & White Version?
No problem! Submit what you have, and we’ll work our magic to get it laser-ready.
Laser Precision & Craftsmanship
Once your design is approved and your order is placed, it’s time for the laser to work its magic.
Each board takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to engrave per side. The laser moves back and forth with precision, just a tenth of a millimeter at a time.
After engraving, we wipe away the smoky soot to reveal the beautiful engraving underneath.
The laser precisely cuts out each token. This takes about 8 minutes per board. One board yields approximately 70 double-sided tokens.
The Material:
We use premium ¼-inch thick maple wood, sourced from American suppliers.
Quality Control & Finishing
Not every piece makes the cut. We have high standards.
What We Look For:
- Sharpness: Is the engraving crisp and clear?
- Centering: Is the design properly aligned?
- Wood Quality: Any discolorations or knots covering text?
- Overall Appearance: Does it meet our standards?
The Sanding Process:
About 15% of tokens need additional sanding to remove burn marks. We hand-sand smaller items and use a belt sander for larger batches—carefully gripping each piece so they don’t fly across the room.
💪 Real Talk: There are a lot of nerve endings in your fingertips. When you’re sanding all day, touching anything later can be pretty painful. But that’s the dedication we put into every order.
Final Cleaning:
We use an air gun to blast away any remaining sawdust. Now they’re ready for packaging!
Packaged With Care & Delivered to Your Door
Once all the tokens are made, sorted, sanded, and counted, we carefully package them up and send them on their way to you.
⏱️ Timeline:
We aim to complete and ship all orders within 10 business days. Depending on order size and complexity, it may occasionally take a bit longer—but rest assured, we’re on it!
